Thank you for your thoughtful questions. I think we can all agree that the government has done a pretty deplorable job with the school system, but you bring up a valid question: who should run it? Definitely not the Federal government. Any central government allowed to control what its youth learn will quickly become a tyrant. No wonder the Constitution gives the Federal government any such power. I personally believe that the parents have the first responsibility to teach their children. Not all parents want to do that, so they can give that responsibility up to their government. Under the Constitution, states and local governments can oversee public schooling. They would be right in requiring payment from those families who sent their children to public schools. Right now, all taxpayers pay for the public school system-even those who don't use it. If you do not use a product, or service you should not be obligated to pay for it. Private citizens should also be allowed to open places of learning to compete with government-run schools. This would create competition between public and private schools and both would get increasingly better.
To answer your question about the TSA, it is not right and does not make us safer. My feeling is that, if every criminal knew that every person everywhere-even on a plane-was potentially armed, crime rates would plummet dramatically and I would feel safer on a 747.
As for the tax question, it's a good one. I won't answer it here, as I will be writing an article on it in the near future.
Again, thank you for your questions.

I agree with a lot of your objections to the current situation, however I have a few questions.
1. Being that the government does control the education who do you think should? You mentioned the parents but at the same time do you honestly think that the parents can handle funding the schools all by them selves? Or are you proposing a private school system where only those who can afford it will attend?

2. Second I need to know your definition on government. What is the government supposed to do if not protect its citizens? The TSA is in place to make sure that attacks on populated area's such as airplanes doesn't happen. I agree that the progressive tax is an issue but at the same time don't you think that the more someone makes the more opportunity to pay higher taxes? At the same time if the progressive tax was abolished then we'd just have richer rich people and poorer poor people. Say the tax is set at a blanket 25% so 25% of a million isnt that much in comparison since they'll still have 750k to play with where as you take 25$ from someone who only makes a 100$ paycheck and that's a large chunk of their usable income. I simply ask what a better alternative to the progressive tax is?
